Striped Linen Seaside Dress

Here is a dress that might have been worn going to the seaside on a cloudy summer day sometime in the 19th century. I like to think of Anne of Green Gables wearing this dress; reading a book or simply daydreaming on Prince Edward Island. It is made of the most lovely light weight cream and taupe striped linen. It has mother of pearl buttons that run up the front placket and two tucks at the hem of the skirt. The waist is fitted to the natural waistline. There are pockets on either side of the skirt, because we all know how much a girl loves her pockets! No need to wear a slip with this dress. The fabric is substantial enough not to show through.

Measurements taken from size small:

*Length (from shoulder to hem): 37”

*Bust (under arm to under arm): 19"

*Waistband: 28"

Fabric: Cream/pink/blue/green woven stripes 100% linen.

Care: Hand wash, line dry.
